Heather LaHaise, Portrait Artist Finding a connection with dogs has been easy for me. Throughout history, Many well known artists have chosen dogs as their subjects and I am inspired by this as well.
I am drawn to their beauty, honesty and lack of pretense which are the very qualities that make them my favorite subject.
I think dogs take the edge off any room or setting whether depicted in a painting or sitting by your side. They also add a lovely distress to furnishings that cannot be duplicated!
