Your product may already have been chosen as a YapStar CoolPick. To see if your product has been chosen, simply click here and type in your product name. If you see your product, click on "Create Listing" and follow the directions online to create your listing and your Pet Product Business Center.

  • How do I get my Pet Product listed as a CoolPick?
If you have searched to see if your pet product is a YapStar CoolPick and you did not find it, we would love to check out your product. First, click here to tell us about your product. Fill in all the information required (indicated by an asterisk). It is very helpful to also have a photo uploaded and a website address. These however are not required. Once you have filled in this information, send YapStar a sample of your pet product so we can put it through the rigorous 2-legged and 4-legged review (make sure to include your Manufacturer Name and Product Name). Send your sample to: YapStar CoolPicks | 830 Arbor Ave. | Sonoma, CA 95476. Upon acceptance into YapStar CoolPicks, you will be notified by email.

  • How do I get users to review my Pet Product?
The cool thing about YapStar is that we designed the site so that, you our partners, have marketing tools to help you promote your Pet Products. First of course, tell all your customers, and business associates to Search for your Product and write a review telling the world how great your products are. But we've gone a step further. On your listing page, you'll see a link that says, "Link To Your Review". On this page, we've provided a customized YapStar icon with your Business Name. Simply copy the code and place it onto your company's web page or emails. To go one step further, promote your products by creating enhanced listings and extend your reach throughout the YapStar site.

YapStar CoolPicks Listings are free. Our staff of reviewers choose products we thing are cool in some way and we create a basic listing for these products. Once your product has been chosen as a YapStar CoolPick, you can choose to create an enhanced listing on Yapstar which offers you additonal reach throughout the site and management of your listing for a monthly fee.

  • How do I create an enhanced listing?
There are 3 ways to get to the Product Business Center. Click on either the link on the home page, "Create A Product Listing", the link on the header of each page, "Product Center" and then click on "Create A Pet Product Listing Now", or click on the link, "Enhance or Edit Your Listing" under your Product Listing Box. Once on the Product Business Center Home Page, click on the "Start Now" Button and follow the online directions.

  • I have more than 1 product chosen as a CoolPick. How do I create enhanced listings for them all?
When you begin the registration process with one of your products, you will eventually be taken to a page that shows all of your pet products on YapStar. On this page you have the option of creating a listing for each product individually or creating a listing for all of your products with the same business plan. YapStar offers discounts on your monthly listing charges based on the number of products you list on YapStar.

  • I've registered, why haven't I received my Publishing emails?
You must click on the link in your publishing email for your listing to appear on YapStar. If you have not received this email, your email provider may be putting your emails into your bulk mail by mistake. To make sure that emails from YapStar.com show up in your inbox, not your bulk email box, manually add yap@yapstar.com to your spam filter white list or directly into your address book. This is easy to do for most desktop and web-based clients such as Outlook, Yahoo, and Hotmail. The steps are as follows:
  • Open a message from YapStar
  • Look for an option to "Add sender to address book."
  • Add the sender to your address book or manually enter yap@yapstar into your address book.
 
Once you have added YapStar to your address book or fixed your spam filters, you can request another publishing email by clicking here and logging in with your email address and password. You will then be taken to a page where you can request that we send you another publishing email. If you still are having trouble you can contact customer support at 415.419.5860 and we will assist you in publishing your listing.

You will be charged at the beginning of each monthly billing cycle. Your monthly billing cycle begins on the day you register for an enhanced listing.

  • Can I change listing plans at any time?
  • Free Listings: You can change to a Bronze or Silver Listing at any time.
  • Bronze Listing Plan: You can upgrade from a Bronze Listing to a Silver Listing at any time. At the end of the current monthly billing cycle your plan will upgrade to a Silver Listing Plan. Your listing plan, whether Bronze or Silver has a 3 month commitment period from time of initial registration.
  • Silver Listing Plan: Your Silver Listing Plan has an initial 3 month commitment term. You can change your listing to a Bronze Plan at any time, however the listing will not change to a Bronze Listings until the end of your 3 month commitment term.
 
 
  • Do you offer any discounts?
YapStar offers discounts through promotional codes, which are supplied by your sales representative. Additionally we offer multiple product discounts. The more products you create enhanced listings for the higher your monthly discounts on all of your product listings.

  • What is your cancellation policy?
Silver and Bronze listings have an initial 3-month commitment term. During this period if you cancel your listing, you will be billed for the entire 3 month period. After this term, if you cancel mid-month, tthe remainder of your month's fee will not be refunded. At time of cancellation, your listing will revert back to a free listing.

  • How do I log in to my Business Center?

  • What does the "remember me" box on the log-in page do?
By checking the "remember me" box on the log-in page, you will not have to log in when returning to YapStar. You should check this box only if you are using a computer at home that only you use. If it is a computer in a public place, clicking the "remember me" box will enable other users to login to YapStar under your account.

  • I have forgotten my password. What should I do?
On the log-in page, click the "Forget your password" link. You will be asked to enter the email address you used when signing up for YapStar and your password will be sent to that address.

  • How do I edit my Product Listing?
If you wish to make edits to your Product Listing, first log in to your Business Center, and click on the Tab, "Edit Listing". You can then edit your Account Information, change your photo, upload a revised logo, update your marketing message and your listing profile, and Publish your edited Listing daily, weekly or at any time.

  • How do I change my Product Listing Plan?
If you wish to change your Product Listing Plan Type, first log in to your Business Center, and click on the Tab, "Change Plan". Simply select the new Plan Type for your Business and follow the directions online. See above for rules regarding changing plans.

You can view User Reviews for your Product by first logging in to your Business Center. Click on the Tab, "Reviews". Here you will find your current Ratings and each User's Reviews of your product. Encourage your customers to write Reviews. YapStar Users tend to view products with the most reviews. So get your customers Yapping!

YapStar Marketing Tools help you promote your products. Do you have some devoted regular customers? Tell them to look for you on YapStar.com and write their own reviews of your products.   • How do I place a link on my website to my product listing?
Place a Link on your site to your YapStar Listing and invite your customers to write reviews! Download the "Talk About Us" Banner for Your Web Site by clicking on "Link To Your Listing" button in your Business Center. Choose either the Cat or Dog YapStar image. To add these images to your site, just copy the code in the text fields and paste it onto your company's home page, other pages on your site, web blog or emails.

  • How do I invite my customers to review my products?
Send Your Customers an E-Mail Message. A direct request is often the best way to get your customers to take action and starting reviewing your products. To make it easy, we've created a message you can send to your customers. Just click on the button, "Tell Your Customers" in your Business Center and then click on "Send An Email Now" and you're on your way to getting those reviews.

All the tools necessary to manage your YapStar Business Account are available to you. Just log in, and click on the Tab, "My Account" and manage your email preferences, change your password, view your order history, print your invoices, export your orders to csv files for easy import into quicken and more.

  • How do I delete my Product Listing?
If you wish to delete your Product Listing, log in and click on the Tab, "My Account". Select the listing you would like to delete under "Your Products". Click on "Cancel Listing Plan" and follow directions online. Initial Listing Plans have a 3 month commitment. If you cancel your plan before the end of this term you will be charged for the entire 3 month period. Your Product will revert back to a Basic Listing and still will be listed as a CoolPick.

  • What do the ratings mean?
User Reviews present a great opportunity for consumers to find out more about your products. On your product listing page, registered users click on "Write A Review" and write a brief description of what they think of your products and rate your product for the attributes listed below. Your rating is an average of these 3 attributes.

  • How do I view user reviews for my Product?
You can view User Reviews for your Product by either viewing your listing on YapStar - reviews for your product will be below your listing or, if you have created an enhanced listing you have access to your Business Center where you can view all reviews. First log in to your Business Center. Click on the Tab, "Reviews". Here you will find your current Ratings and each User's Reviews of your product. Encourage your customers to write Reviews. YapStar Users tend to view products with the most reviews. So get your customers Yapping!

  • The rating for my Pet Product is too low. How can I improve it?
To improve your rating, encourage customers who love your products to write reviews. The more often you receive positive reviews, the higher your rating will be. If you have created an enhanced listing we supply tools to you to help you promote your listing on YapStar.

  • Can my competitors adversely affect my rating?
People found posting negative reviews about their competitors will be banned from YapStar.com and if their Pet Products have been chosen as a YapStar CoolPick, their products will be removed from the site permanently. If you have specific evidence that a competitor has written negative reviews about your product, please email us at business@yapstar.com.

  • How do I let YapStar know that I think a review is inappropriate?
If you feel that a review is offensive or inappropriate, you can tell us by clicking on the "Flag Comment" link under the review in question. YapStar staff will look at the review in question and determine if it should be removed from YapStar. YapStar may delete any content that in the sole judgment of YapStar may be offensive or harassing, illegal or which discloses personal information or contains commercial solicitations.

  • May I contact users who are writing reviews of my products?
You cannot contact users directly, but you can respond to their reviews by becoming a member of YapStar and responding to reviews publicly. It's simple to do. Simply create a Pet Profile, go to your Product Listing and click on "Write A Review". Do not respond to reviews about your product anonymously. When responding to reviews state clearly that you are the business owner. If you choose to respond to a negative review, be professional. We've found that courteous responses addressing your customer's concerns are the most effective. Responding to a negative review with concern for your customer is an opportunity to convince potential new customers that you are committed to quality and service.

  • I represent a business that has received a negative review on YapStar. Can you remove it?
To help maintain the independence of User Reviews, YapStar does not remove reviews because they are negative. We know that receiving a negative review doesn't feel good, however keeping YapStar a place where our users can express their opinions openly and honestly is the foundation for this site. If a YapStar user has not had a good experience with your Pet Product, this is the place for them to speak about it. We also think that negative reviews are not all bad. They offer you, the business owner a way to get feeback on your products that is direct and honest.

All products on YapStar are able to be reviewed. We provide a directory of local businesses and products as a service to our users. We do not generally take listings off the site. Please contact customer service at business@yapstar.com if you need further assistance.

  • Do not respond to reviews about your own product anonymously, instead create your YapStar Pet Profile and respond to reviews stating clearly that you are the business owner.
  • Responses should be handled professionally and with courtesy and respect.
  • Owner Responses written on YapStar may be screened to make sure they are appropriate. YapStar reserves the right to remove any response at its sole discretion.
  • When you write a response, you give YapStar permission to display your response on this Web site. You must be at least 13 years old to submit reviews or responses.
  • Do not use any profanity, or any language that is threatening. Doing so will result in the user's pet profile and products being removed from the site.
  • Do not mention individual employees of your company by their complete name.
  • Do not include any e-mail addresses, or any html code in your responses.
  • The reviews that appear on YapStar are the opinions of the users of YapStar, not the opinion of YapStar.
