If you see your pet business, click on your business name and follow the directions online to manage your listing and create your Pet Business Center. You can create a Business Center and manage your listing for free, bronze, silver or gold listings.

If you have searched to see if your pet business is listed on YapStar and you did not find it, it's easy to list your pet business on YapStar. To add your pet business to YapStar you must first go through the Search process to ensure you are not creating a duplicate listing. You can get started by clicking here.

  • How do I get users to review my Pet Business?
The cool thing about YapStar is that we designed the site so that, you our partners, have marketing tools to help you promote your Pet Business. First of course, tell all your customers, and business associates to Search for your Pet Business and write a review telling the world how great your services are. But we've gone a step further. On your listing page, you'll see a link that says, "Link To Your Review". On this page, we've provided a customized YapStar icon with your Business Name. Simply copy the code and place it onto your company's web page or emails.
To go one step further, we've developed a co-marketing program for Gold and Silver Listings called YapPartners. If you register for a Gold or Silver Listing you will receive printed YapCards to hand out to your customers, encouraging them to go online and write a review.

There are 3 ways to get to the Pet Business Center and create an enhanced listing. Click on either the link on the home page, "List Your Pet Business Free", the link on the header of each page, "Pet Business Center" and then click on "Create A Pet Business Account", or click on the link, "Enhance or Edit Your Listing" under your Pet Business Listing Box. Once on the Pet Business Center Home Page, click on the "Start Now" Button and follow the online directions.

YapStar has created a Co-Marketing Program called YapPartners. When you register your business for a Gold or Silver Listing, you automatically get YapCards printed (customized with your business name and YapPartner code) and sent to your business. You hand these cards out to your customers and when your customers register they input your YapPartner code and automatically receive a YapStar Plus Membership. Of course, the idea is to ask your customers to review your business. The more reviews you receive, the more users will notice, the more they'll tell their friends, the more new customers you will receive.
But that's not all, in your business center you can view how many of your customers registered each month and what they had to say. When 20 of your customers register on YapStar in a month you receive a 25% discount off of your next month?s listing fees.

  • I have more than one Pet Business and/or multiple locations. How do I create enhanced listings for them all?
When you begin the registration process with one of your business locations, you will eventually be taken to a page that shows all of your business locations on YapStar (if they have the same name). On this page you have the option of creating a listing for each location individually or creating a listing for all of your locations with the same business plan. YapStar offers discounts on your monthly listing charges based on the number of locations you list on YapStar.
If all of your business locations are not currently listed on YapStar or if your business locations have different names, you also have the option of adding new locations during the registration process or at a later date through your Business Center.

  • I've registered, why haven't I received my Publishing emails?
You must click on the link in your publishing email for your listing to appear on YapStar. If you have not received this email, your email provider may be putting your emails into your bulk mail by mistake. To make sure that emails from YapStar.com show up in your inbox, not your bulk email box, manually add adv@yapstar.com to your spam filter white list or directly into your address book. This is easy to do for most desktop and web-based clients such as Outlook, Yahoo, and Hotmail. The steps are as follows:
  • Open a message from YapStar
  • Look for an option to "Add sender to address book."
  • Add the sender to your address book or manually enter adv@yapstar into your address book.
 
Once you have added YapStar to your address book or fixed your spam filters, you can request another publishing email by clicking here and entering your email address. If you still are having trouble you can contact customer support at 415.419.5860 or at business@yapstar.com and we will assist you in publishing your listing.

You will be charged at the beginning of each monthly billing cycle. Your monthly billing cycle begins on the day you register for an enhanced listing.

  • Can I change listing plans at any time?
  • Free Listings: You can change to a Bronze, Silver or Gold Listing at any time.
  • Bronze Listing Plan: You can upgrade from a Bronze Listing to a Silver or Gold Listing at any time. At the end of the current monthly billing cycle your plan will upgrade to either a Silver or Gold Listing Plan. Your Bronze Listing Plan has an initial 3 month commitment term. You can change your listing to a Free Plan at any time, however the listing will not change until the end of your 3 month commitment term.
  • Silver Listing Plan: You can upgrade from a Silver Listing to a Gold Listing at any time. At the end of the current monthly billing cycle your plan will upgrade to a Gold Listing Plan. Your Silver Listing Plan has an initial 3 month commitment term. You can change your listing to a Bronze Plan at any time, however the listing will not change until the end of your 3 month commitment term.
  • Gold Listing Plan: Your Gold Listing Plan has an initial 3 month commitment term. You can change your listing to a Bronze or Silver Plan at any time, however the listing will not change until the end of your 3 month commitment term.
 
 
  • Do you offer any discounts?
YapStar offers discounts through promotional codes, which are supplied by your sales representative. If you would like to have a sales representative assist you, contact YapStar at 415.419.5860 or at business@yapstar.com. Additionally we offer multiple listing discounts. The more business locations you create enhanced listings for the higher your monthly discounts on all of your business listings.

  • What is your cancellation policy?
Gold, Silver and Bronze listings have an initial 3-month commitment term. During this period if you cancel your listing, you will be billed for the entire 3 month period. After this term, if you cancel mid-month, the remainder of your month's fee will not be refunded. At the time of cancellation, your listing will revert back to a basic listing and you will no longer have access to your Business Center.

  • What does the Pet Business Center offer me?
The founders of YapStar owned a Pet Store and developed YapStar from day one with our partners, pet businesses as a primary consideration.   • How do I log in to my Business Center?
Track your Customer reviews and ratings, View how often your business has been made a favorite, View how often your listing has been viewed, Edit Your Pet Business Profile easily, Change your listing plan and Manage your settings. With your Business Center, you?ll be able to monitor your advertising results 24/7 through YapStar's online reporting, and continually update your Business Listing.   • What does the "remember me" box on the log-in page do?
By checking the "remember me" box on the log-in page, you will not have to log in when returning to YapStar. You should check this box only if you are using a computer at home that only you use. If it is a computer in a public place, clicking the "remember me" box will enable other users to login to YapStar under your account.

  • I have forgotten my password. What should I do?
On the log-in page, click the "Forget your password?" link. You will be asked to enter the email address you used when signing up for YapStar and your password will be sent to that address.

  • How do I edit my Business Listing?
If you wish to make edits to your Pet Business Listing, first log in to your Business Center, and click on the Tab, "Edit Listing". You can then edit your Account Information, change your photo, create and edit your special offers, upload a revised logo, update your marketing message and your listing profile, and Publish your edited Listing daily, weekly or at any time.

If you wish to change your Business Listing Plan Type, first log in to your Business Center, and click on the Tab, "Change Plan". Simply select the new Plan Type for your Business and follow the directions online. See above for rules regarding changing plans.

You can view User Reviews for your Product by first logging in to your Business Center. Click on the Tab, "Reviews". Here you will find your current Ratings and each User's Reviews of your pet business. Encourage your customers to write Reviews. YapStar Users tend to view Pet Business' with the most reviews. So get your customers Yapping!

  • How do I place a link on my website to my business listing?
Place a Link on your site to your YapStar Listing and invite your customers to write reviews! Download the "Talk About Us" Banner for Your Web Site by clicking on "Link To Your Listing" button in your Business Center. Choose either the Cat or Dog YapStar image. To add these images to your site, just copy the code in the text fields and paste it onto your company's home page, other pages on your site, web blog or emails.

  • How do I invite my customers to review my products?
Send Your Customers an E-Mail Message. A direct request is often the best way to get your customers to take action and starting reviewing your products. To make it easy, we've created a message you can send to your customers. Just click on the button, "Tell Your Customers" in your Business Center and then click on "Send An Email Now" and you're on your way to getting those reviews.

  • How do I manage my account information?
All the tools necessary to manage your YapStar Business Account are available to you. Just log in, and click on the Tab, "My Account" and manage your email preferences, change your password, view your order history, print your invoices, export your orders to csv files for easy import into quicken and more.

  • How do I delete my Business Listing?
If you wish to delete your BusinessListing, log in and click on the Tab, "My Account". Select the listing you would like to delete under "Your Locations". Click on "Cancel Listing Plan" and follow directions online. Initial Listing Plans have a 3 month commitment. If you cancel your plan before the end of this term you will be charged for the entire 3 month period. Your Business Listing will revert back to a Basic Listing which only has your address and phone number. You will no longer have access to your Business Center.

User Reviews present a great opportunity for consumers to find out more about your pet business. On your pet business listing page, registered users click on "Write A Review" and write a brief description of what they think of your business and rate your business for the attributes listed below. Your rating is an average of these 3 attributes.

  • How do I view user reviews for my Business?
You can view User Reviews for your Pet Business by either viewing your listing on YapStar - reviews for your business will be below your listing or, if you have created an enhanced listing you have access to your Business Center where you can view all reviews. First log in to your Business Center. Click on the Tab, "Reviews". Here you will find your current Ratings and each User's Reviews of your business. Encourage your customers to write Reviews. YapStar Users tend to view businesses with the most reviews. So get your customers Yapping!

To improve your rating, encourage customers who love your business to write reviews. The more often you receive positive reviews, the higher your rating will be. If you have created an enhanced listing we supply tools to help you promote your listing on YapStar.

  • Can my competitors adversely affect my rating?
People found posting negative reviews about their competitors will be permanently banned from YapStar.com and their business will be removed from the site permanently. If you have specific evidence that a competitor has written negative reviews about your business, please email us at business@yapstar.com.

  • How do I let YapStar know that I think a review is inappropriate?
If you feel that a review is offensive or inappropriate, you can tell us by clicking on the "Flag Comment" link under the review in question. YapStar staff will look at the review in question and determine if it should be removed from YapStar. YapStar may delete any content that in the sole judgment of YapStar may be offensive or harassing, illegal or which discloses personal information or contains commercial solicitations.

  • May I contact users who are writing reviews of my pet business?
You cannot contact users directly, but you can respond to their reviews by becoming a member of YapStar and responding to reviews publicly. It's simple to do. Simply create a Pet Profile, go to your Pet Business Listing and click on "Write A Review". Do not respond to reviews about your business anonymously. When responding to reviews state clearly that you are the business owner. If you choose to respond to a negative review, be professional. We've found that courteous responses addressing your customer's concerns are the most effective. Responding to a negative review with concern for your customer is an opportunity to convince potential new customers that you are committed to quality and service.

  • I represent a business that has received a negative review on YapStar. Can you remove it?
To help maintain the independence of User Reviews, YapStar does not remove reviews because they are negative. We know that receiving a negative review doesn't feel good, however keeping YapStar a place where our users can express their opinions openly and honestly is the foundation for this site. If a YapStar user has not had a good experience with your Pet Business, this is the place for them to speak about it. We also think that negative reviews are not all bad. They offer you, the business owner a way to get feeback on your business that is direct and honest.

  • What do I do if I prefer that my business not be reviewed on YapStar?
All businesses on YapStar are able to be reviewed. We provide a directory of local businesses and products as a service to our users. We do not generally take listings off the site. Please contact customer service at business@yapstar.com if you need further assistance.

  • User Reviews Response Guidelines
  • Do not respond to reviews about your own Pet Business anonymously, instead create your YapStar Pet Profile and respond to reviews stating clearly that you are the business owner.
  • Responses should be handled professionally and with courtesy and respect.
  • Owner Responses written on YapStar may be screened to make sure they are appropriate. YapStar reserves the right to remove any response at its sole discretion.
  • When you write a response, you give YapStar permission to display your response on this Web site. You must be at least 13 years old to submit reviews or responses.
  • Do not use any profanity, or any language that is threatening. Doing so will result in the user's pet profile and pet business listing being removed from the site permanently.
  • Do not mention individual employees of your company by their complete name.
  • Do not include any e-mail addresses, or any html code in your responses.
  • The reviews that appear on YapStar are the opinions of the users of YapStar, not the opinion of YapStar.
